The Scoutcraft area has a strong focus on outdoor skills and “traditional” scout skills, providing many classic Scout Merit Badges and opportunities to learn and strengthen skills like knot-tying, pioneering, camping, wilderness survival, and outdoor cooking in a fun and safe environment. This area can be found at the top of Hoosier Heritage Ridge.

Merit badges in the Scoutcraft area range from classic Eagle-required ones such as Emergency Preparedness, Cooking, and Camping to more obscure and fun ones like Signs Signal and Codes where scouts can learn the basics of cyphers, sign language, and more. Then there are the “scouter pro” Merit Badges like Search and Rescue, Pioneering, and of course Wilderness Survival with the patented camp overnighter.

Be Prepared

Many Merit Badges in the Scoutcraft area have pre-requisite requirements, which can be found on the current year’s Activity Schedule.

Adult Volunteers

With the huge popularity of Merit Badges in this area and the many important skills being taught, Scoutcraft welcomes volunteer adult leaders who’d like to help with Merit Badges. Many adult leaders enjoy helping scouts learn these essential outdoor skills.
